      This is the CW <\/strong>( = continuous wave<\/strong>) transmission mode. In this mode the radio amateur does not communicate using voice. He is using a special switch (the key<\/strong>) that allow him to send short <\/strong>or <\/strong>long sounds <\/strong>[dots<\/em> or dashes<\/em>] via his radio. The transmission speed is count using “Words per Minute<\/strong>, W<\/strong>.P<\/strong>.M<\/strong>.” or “Characters per Minute, C.P.M<\/strong>“. Typical speeds are around 20 W.P.M.
